Common questions

Managing or canceling your subscription

Your subscription is handled by Apple. To view, change, or cancel it, open your device's Settings, tap your name at the top, tap Subscriptions, and select River Rat Guide. Canceling stops the next renewal; you keep access through the end of the paid period. Note that deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.

Free trial

New subscribers get a 14-day free trial. It converts to a paid subscription unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, in the Subscriptions screen above.

Restoring a purchase

If you reinstall the app or switch devices, open the app and use Restore Purchases (on the subscription screen) while signed in to the same Apple ID.

Your account and data

You sign in with Apple — no password to manage. You can edit your display name and home region from the app. See our Privacy Policy for details on what we store.

Deleting your account

To delete your River Rat Guide account: open the app → Menu → Account → Delete Account, then type DELETE to confirm. This permanently removes your account, profile, and saved marks. Deleting your account does not cancel an active subscription — manage that in iOS Settings → Apple Account → Subscriptions.

Reporting a problem or a hazard

Use Report an Issue in the app to send us bugs or data corrections. To flag a strainer, obstruction, or other hazard for other paddlers and boaters, use the in-app hazard report on the map. Community hazard reports are user-submitted and unverified — always use your own judgment on the water.

Location and permissions

The app uses your device's location for navigation, and that location is processed on your device and never sent to us. You can grant or revoke location access anytime in your device's Settings.
